Mrs. Etta Ackerman, 91, widow of George Ackerman, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday at the home in Worden of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Rademacher. A native of Germany, Mrs. Ackerman was born Dec. 27, 1866 and was brought to this country as a small child by her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Eilert Wilkin. Mr. Ackerman died May 24, 1932.
Survivors include two sons, Edward of Hayward, Calif., and Herman Ackerman of Alton; six daughters, Mrs. S.J. (Fannie) Carpenter of Newkirk, Okla., Mrs. Charles (Edith) Krotz, Godfrey, Mrs. Fred (Ella) Lokey, Mrs. Louis (Emma) Opel, Mrs. Dan (Clara) Schneider and Mrs. Rademacher, all of Worden; one sister, Mrs. Anna Goodyear of Alton; 27 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, a son Fred preceded her in death.
A lifelong member of the Lutheran church, she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Bethalto and was a member of Trinity Lutheran church of Worden and the Ladies Aid of the church.
The body is at the Williamson funeral home in Worden. Funeral services will be held from Trinity church in Worden at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. W.L. Stellwagen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Upper Alton cemetery.
