Age 84, died Friday, May 29, 1998. Emily was born July 1, 1913 in Menasha, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John and Mary (Malenofsky) Ponkratz. She married Thomas Russell and he preceded her in death in 1994. Emily was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Menasha. She is survived by four daughters, Ruth (Marlin) Coan, Salem Oregon; Barbara (James) Quella, Neenah; Sharon (Gerald) Krueger, Menasha; Elizabeth (Ben) Rundell, Effingham, IL. She is also survived by a sister Marion (Harold) Garrigan, Menasha; 12 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by four sisters, Lucille Jape, Adella Schneider, Marcella Casperson, and Rose Frieders, a grandson, and a great grand daughter. Funeral services will be Tuesday June 2 1998 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic church in Menasha with Msgr. Brian Coleman officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Laemmrich Community Funeral Home, Menasha and also at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. There will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery, Menasha. A memorial has been established.
Emily liked to do crafts in her spare time. She liked to cross stitch, crochet, and make loop rugs.
