Mary Edmonson Morrow, 81, of the Clay Hill community, died Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 17, 1999, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

A native of Tellico Plains, she was a daughter of the late George and Bessie Stiles Edmonson and was a member of Sanford Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Morrow, on June 1, 1988; two sisters, Rosette McAlister and Viola McAlister; and one brother, John Edmonson.

Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara and Lowell Webb of Athens, Sue Womac, Carolyn and J.L. Carmley and Janice Morrow, all of Riceville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Shell and Margie Breeden, both of Athens; two brothers, Luther Edmonson of Riceville and William Edmonson of Athens.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Jerry Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Swafford and the Rev. Floyd Boggess officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The body is in state at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
