ELTON LEHMAN EPLEY SR., a resident of Huntsville, Arkansas, formerly of Green Forest, was born May 15, 1919 in Green Forest, a son of Stephen Sephus and Demaris (Lawrence) Epley. He died Wednesday, March 3, 2004 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 84.

Mr. Epley was a Veteran having served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Green Forest and he was a rancher.

On Aug. 12, 1939 he was united in marriage with Hazel (Geddis) Epley who survives him. He is also survived by a son, Elton, Jr. and his wife Deeana Epley of Corona Del Mar, California; a daughter, Billye Lou Terherst of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two brothers, Jim Epley of Hot Springs, Arkansas and J.C. Epley of Burns, Oregon; two sisters, Halene Marriott of Green Forest and Evelyn Evans of Portland, Oregon; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gene Epley, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the Assembly Of God Church in Green Forest with Rev. Mark Bryant and Rev. Jim Epley officiating.
