Henry G. Doctor, aged 71 years, 1104 Glasglow avenue, a well known retired farmer and life long Allen conuty (sic) resident, who until sixteen years ago lived on a farm in Adams township this county, died at 6 o'clock this morning, less than three weeks after the death of his brother, the late William A. Doctor of this city, who died August 21. Death was due to apoplexy and came very unexpectedly as the decedent had been ill only one day.
Born in Adams township, Allen county, seventy-one years ago, Mr. Doctor resided in the same township until sixteen years ago when he disposed of his fanning interests and moved to Fort Wayne to lead a retired life. Mr. Doctor was for years one of the most progressive farmers of Adams township and enjoyed an extensive acquaintanceship throughout the entire county He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran church since residing in this city
Surviving besides the wife, are the following children: Mrs. August Behrman, Mrs. William Brown, Mrs. Fred Adams, Mrs. H. Koehlinger. and Henry and Lewis Doctor, all of Allen county and Allen Doctor, of Antwerp, Ohio. Twenty-six grandchildren. four great grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters also survive, Mrs. Mary Eckhart. of this city; Mrs. Samuel Halle, Lafayette; Mrs. John Langehr, For (sic) Wayne; Mrs. Regina Connors, St. Louis; Nathan Doctor, of Antwerp, Ohio; and George Plengy, of this city.
