Bobby Atkins, 59, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007 at his residence.
He was minister of music for Hillcrest Baptist Church for 31 years and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, West Tennessee Baptist Men's Chorale and Tennessee Baptist Men's Chorale.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Lynn King and the Rev. Joe Naylor officiating. Burial will be in South Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors at 4-8 p.m. today at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Atkins; a daughter, Jana Suzanne Thompson and husband, Jerry Lynn Thompson Jr., of Bell Buckle; a son, Arty Jason Atkins of Dyersburg; his mother, Mary Frances Atkins of Dyersburg; a sister, Milba Sutton of Ripley; a brother, Ricky Steve Atkins of Dyersburg; and two grandchildren, Kaleigh Davis and Ella Grace Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Milburn Richard Atkins.
Pallbearers will be Gene West, Buster Gibson, Greg Alford, John Jeffries, Vandel Spoon and Roy Childress. Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Young In Heart.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hillcrest Baptist Church.
