Ella V. Garver Case

HANOVER - Ella V. Garver Case, 96, formerly of Spring Grove, died peacefully at 2:10 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at Homewood at Plum Creek. She was the wife of the late Lloyd C. Case and the late John R. Garver.
The funeral service for Mrs. Case will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Irwin Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with her pastor, the Rev. Barbara J. Brenneman, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Case will be laid to rest in Jefferson Cemetery.
Ella was born April 26, 1912, in Codorus Township, a daughter of the late Kate L. (Stauffer) Smith.
She retired from the former Seven Valleys Garment Company, where she was employed for many years as a sewing machine operator. Prior to that, she also worked for the former S. & R. Sewing Factory in Jefferson. Mrs. Case was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Jefferson, the Jefferson Chapter #3699 AARP, the Ladies Auxiliary of Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company, and the Homewood Auxiliary in Hanover.
Mrs. Case will be sadly missed by her daughter, JoAnn R. Strickler of Bethesda, Md.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
