Richard Andrews was born October 13, 1813 in Stillwater, Saratoga Co., NY to Jesse and Betsy (Benjamin) Andrews. In 1818 the family began their trek westward and in May of 1831 they settled near Bronson, Huron Co., OH. Richard and his brother, Josiah, courted the Brooks twins whom they married in a double ceremony on November 1, 1834 in Peru, Huron Co., OH. To Richard and Amy Ann (Brooks) Andrews were born Angeline Andrews, Cornelia G. Andrews, Henry H. Andrews, Ellen Andrews and Lewis B. Andrews. Richard and Josiah moved their families to Noble Co., IN. Amy Ann died in Kendallville, Noble Co., IN on July 30, 1858. Richard married Mrs. Mary (Snider) Fish on September 28, 1858.
