Services for George Lewis VanDeventer, 85, retired western Oklahoma farmer, who died late Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vada Eskew. 1100 SW 36, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Gotebo Methodist church. Burial will be at Gotebo under direction of Hartroff funeral home at Cordell.
VanDeventer, present at all three state opening runs, had been a resident in the Lake Valley community near Gotebo 51 years. He was a member of the Methodist church. He was also a member of the Masonic lodge and was Worthy Patron and Worshipful Master of the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors are his wife. Charlotte, and daughter, Vada, of the home; two sons, Lloyd R., of Lawton and Sidney M., 4332 NW 11th; a sister, Mrs. Mary Barrett, Portland, Ore.;
seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren
