Obituary published in the Venango Citizen’s Press on Aug. 15, 1917
Mrs. Thomas T. McClelland died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ellsworth Myers, 1305 Eagle Street, at 4:25 this morning. Mrs. McClelland had been in poor health for some time and had been staying with her daughter in order to be near her physician.
Mrs. McClelland’s maiden name was Sarah Ann Perrine and was born at Perrine’s Corners, Mercer County, April 28, 1842. She attended school there and on May 26, 1859, she was married to Thomas T. McClelland. They moved to Raymilton where they have lived ever since.
Besides her husband, Mrs. McClelland leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Martha McClellan of Polk; Mrs. Thomas Anderson of Oil City; Leander Perrine of Utica; Mrs. Margaret Boring of Providence, R.I.; J.N. Perrine of Oil City; and Mrs. Edith Steckle of Boston, and the following children: Mrs. Ellsworth Myers of Franklin; George S. McClelland of Raymilton; Mrs. Charles Carnahan of Tidioute; Jesse P. McClelland of Hendersonville; William K. McClelland of Tidioute; Mrs. Elmer Powell of Polk; and Miss Blanche McClelland of Raymilton. 28 grandchildren also survive
A prayer service will be held at the home of Mrs. Myers at 8 o’clock tonight, conducted by Rev. Herbert A. Ellis. The body will be taken to the old home at Raymilton tomorrow where the funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday by Rev. J.J. Brown. Interment will be made at the Old Center M. E. Church, where Mrs. McClelland was a member since her marriage.

In addition to the children listed in the obituary, Sarah was also the mother of Margaret Evalyne McClelland Powell, 1865-1895.

In addition those listed below, Sarah had these additional siblings: Hester Ann, 1 April 1840-1 August 1866, m. Warren Esterbrook; and twins Calvin Horatio and Caroline Lucretia, b. 9 August 1849. Calvin died 24 October, 1853. Caroline married William K. Swartz and died 31 Jan 1916. She is buried in Forest Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio.
