GALENA, Kan. — Services for Koy J. Beaty, 94, Galena route 1, who died Thursday at Baxter Memorial Hospital, Baxter Springs, after a short illness, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Riverton Friends Church.
The Rev. Paul Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Quaker Valley Cemetery, Riverton.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie Miller, Lefty VanAuker, Bill Edwards, Carson Bates, Bob Puffinbarger and Thurman Sewell.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs.

Koy J. Beaty, Riverton, Kan., celebrated his 92nd birthday Saturday, Oct. 6, [1987] with a dinner attended by friends and family at the home of his son, Francis Beaty, Baxter Springs, Kan.
Born Oct. 11, 1892, in Clinton, Beaty has lived in the Quaker Valley of Cherokee County, Kan., most of his life.
He married Vetsa (sic) [Vesta] Cooper in 1914. She died in 1975. The couple have seven children: The Rev. Cooper Beaty, Broken Arrow, Okla.; Francis Beaty, Baxter Springs, Kan.; June Philips, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Naomi Hittenmark and Dorothy Cox, both Joplin; Henry Beaty, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Samuel Beaty, Houston, Texas.
All of the children, and a nephew from Fairhope, Ala., were present for the celebration.
Beaty was employed by Empire District Electric Co. at the Riverton plant for 37 1/2 years.
