New Berlin-Aaron S. Foulds, "Dirt", 22, passed away early Wednesday morning, Aug. 3, 2005, in New Berlin.

Dirt was born in Norwich on Dec. 7, 1982, the son of Stanley D. and Glenda (Predmore) Foulds. Though he lived in Norwich all of his life, he spent a lot of his time in the South New Berlin and New Berlin areas, graduating in 2001 from the Unadilla Valley school system. If you knew Dirt, you knew him well, and to the rest of the world he presented an image of not having a care in the world and not caring what anyone thought; yet he would willingly do anything for anybody. A former employee of New Berlin's New York Pizzeria, Dirt currently worked for Steve Root of Root's Flooring as a subcontractor for Ray's Wayside Funiture in Hamilton.

When you thought of Dirt, you thought of sports. He was a free spirit who was well liked by everyone yet was still an excellent team player. Active in Norwich Little League and Norwich Pop Warner in his early years, Dirt scored the first touchdown of "C" Team and was also a member of the "B" Team. During high school, he was a member of the track, baseball, football and basketball teams. He moved on to involvement in Norwich Slow Pitch Softball and was a member of the championship Flag Football team sponsored by Newton Body Shop and Chenango Welding.

Dirt is survived by his parents, Stan and Glenda, and by his sister and brothers, Ashley, Brandon, Joshua and Tyler, grandmother Susan, and grandfather Glenn. He is also survived by a special friend Stephone, who was an exchange student from Germany, many aunts, uncles and cousin, and a throng of good friends.

Funeral services for Dirt will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, the Rev. Charles Taylor, Rector of St. Andrews Episcopal Church of New Berlin will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.

Dirt's family has requested memorial contributions to the Norwich Jr. Football in memory of Dirt Foulds.
