Mike A. Volk, 70, Bismarck, died June 29, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, with the Rev. Leonard Eckroth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. A rosary will be said at 8 tonight at Myers Funeral Home, Linton.
Mike was born Oct. 11, 1927, at Strasburg, the son of Anton H. and Mary (Schumacher) Volk. He attended school in Strasburg. He married Marcella Wald on Oct. 5, 1948, in Napoleon. They made their home in Strasburg. Mike retired from Annco Construction Co.
He was a member of Eagles Club, Beaver Valley Horse Club and Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella, Bismarck; five sons and four daughters-in-law, LeRoy and Mary, Jerome and Nonnie, Gerard and Renae, Willie and Arlene, and Anthony, all of Bismarck; two daughters and one son-in-law, Marie and Darris Job, Mandan, and Theresia Haugen, Bismarck; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Victor Deringer, Strasburg; and two sisters-in-law, Maggie Volk Streifel, Strasburg, and Esther Volk, Blue Earth, Minn.
