Born in Barren Co. he was the son of the late John Gilbert & Daisy Smith Bishop and husband of the late Elizabeth Kathline Reeves Bishop. Mr. Bishop joined the South Fork Baptist Church as a young man.
Survivors include 5 daughters Ruby Lucille Smith of Crawfordsville, IN, Eva Rose Deckard of Glasgow, Betty Jean Nanny of Indianapolis, IN, Elizabeth Ann Likens of Glasgow and Rachel Louise Turlin of Elk Hart, IN; 3 sons Robert E. Bishop, Fredrick Joseph "Joe" Bishop and James Leason "John" Bishop all of Glasgow; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild. In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by 1 daughter Edna Ruth Black, 1 son James Elmer Bishop, 1 sister Ruby Downing, 1 brother Fred Bishop and 1 great grandson Tyler Bishop.
