Joel E. Moores, aged 59, died last night at his home on W. New York Ave. Mr. Moores had been ill for only a short time, and passed away in his sleep.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 tomorrow morning at St. Peters Church.
Father P.J. Haligan will be assisted by Father Mullahley of Daytona Beach.
An evening service at 7:30 tonight at the church, when prayers form the soul of Mr. Moores will take the place of prayers at the home.
ELKS CONDUCT SERVICES
Deland Elks Lodge No. 1463 will conduct special services at the grave in Oakdale Cemetery. lodge members are asked to meet at 8:30 tomorrow morning at the Elks Home.
Pallbearers for the funeral will be Ben Nordman, H.T. Allen, Roscoe Anderson, John O'neil, Raymond Dreka, and Phillips Holmes.
Mr. Moores was born in Richmond, Ky. He came to deland 24 years ago and engaged in the transfer business. He was connected with the Moores/Batsford company until about a year ago.
He was an active member of St. Peters church and of the Deland Elks Lodge.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. J.E. Moores, and one brother who resides in Richmond, Ky.
Undertaker J.A. Allen is in charge of the arrangements.
