Riley was married to Loy Christeen "Loy-Teen" Pittman Arendale. He was the father of Mary Nell Arendale Gong and George Hamilton Arendale and he raised his grandson as his own child, Larry Hamilton Arendale .



CHARLESTON -- Riley Hamilton Arendale, 79, farmer and cattlemen, died Wednesday, March 27, at Tallahatchie General Hospital.


Rev. Buster Thomas conducted services at 2 p.m. Friday, March 29, at Newsom Funeral Home. Sacred music was by Mrs. Ruby Adams. Burial followed in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery near Charleston, where Mr. Arendale was a member.


He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George Gong of Charleston; two sons, George H. Arendale of Holly Ridge and Larry H. Arendale of Charleston; a sister, Mrs. Inez Davenport of Blue Ridge, Ga., and two grandchildren.


Pallbearers were Lamar Howell, Morris Payne Morgan, Jimmy Dale Fly, W.L. Arendale, Charley Boggs, and Travis Best.
