William C.Savage, Son of Daniel Savage & Susan Charlotte Cohoe, William married Elizabeth McAninch, Daughter of James Washington McAninch and Barbary McLain ,21 Sep 1848, OH. To this marriage were born: Deborah Ellen,Henrietta Virginia,Bertha V.,Benjamin A.& John Franklin.

William Joined Company "H", 15th Infantry Regiment Illinois Volunteers, February 25, 1865 at Dixion, Illinois. Enrolled by Captain Eustace for a period of one year. Mustered in on the same date by Captain Eustace. William was a residence of Leaf River, Ogle County, Illinois at this
time. William was mustered out in New York City, New York July 24, 1865 by Lieutenant Hinney. He had the rank of Private. William is Great Grandfather of Sandra Jayne Savage-Ruyle

Elizabeth moved to LaConner, Skagit Co., WA, about 1998. Last record of her is the 1900 Census, LaConner, Skagit County, WA. Head of Household son John Franklin Living with her. The final document in the folder is a card which says that Elizabeth was paid $12 on December 4, 1903,for William's Civil War pension, but her death was reported on March 14, 1904.
