E. Rose (Brett) Rose, 77, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at Central Washington Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was the youngest of 7 children and was born on February 14, 1926 in Wenatchee to Mary Charlotte Weidrich and James Gilmore Gibb Johnson. She was raised on Badger Mountain. She attended school at the one room school on Badger Mtn. where she helped teach the younger children when she was in the 8th and 9th grade.

In 1941, Rose married Lloyd Brett and they raised six children, Gayle, Gary, Mary, Joanne, Beth and Carrie in East Wenatchee.

In 1994 she married Ed Rose.

Rose attended the Wenatchee First Assembly of God. She loved gardening and reading. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. One of her favorite things to do was knitting blankets for her grandchildren. Not only did she like being around her own children, Rose loved all children and within a period of about 5 years, Rose and Lloyd had 51 foster children in their home.

She was a PTA President and a Room Mother when her children were young at Robert E. Lee Elementary School. She had the ability to make people laugh and smile with her quick wit. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Rose of East Wenatchee; her six children, son, Gary (Judy) Brett of East Wenatchee; daughters, Gayle (Gary) Warren of Eugene, OR; Mary (Terry) Reid of Tacoma; Joanne (Dick) Neel of East Wenatchee; Beth (Jerry) Marker; Bonny Lake; Carrie Brett of East Wenatchee; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
