Missis Lizzie Furua and Hilda Sueve were drowned in Pelican Lake last Saturday. The young ladies were bathing in the lake where the river runs in from Little Pelican. One of the young ladies stepped into deep water and the other also got beyond her depth in attempting to assist her. The third young lady, Miss Josie Furua went to their assistance and narrowly escaped drowning, being rescued by two young men who were members of the picnic party. The unfortunate young women were the daughters of Steffen Hanson Furua and Erick O. Sneve, old settlers and prominent farmers of Tansem township. Miss Sneve was to have been married yesterday to Anton Jensen, a prominent young farmer of Tansem. The double funeral was held from the church in Parke township Tuesday and was attended by an unusually large concourse of relatives and friends.
