Mr. Arnold was born in Monahans and had lived in Newark 54 years.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors: Wife, Claudia Arnold of Newark; son, Pete Arnold of Kerrville; four daughters, Zada Faye Eastwood of Kerrville, Kathy Riddles of Fort Worth, Oleta Kaye McGregor of Dallas and Juanita Gaye Sullivan of Pecos; brother, Gerald "Buddy" Arnold of Bowie; four sisters, Ruby Phillips of Centralia, Ill., Vanieta Taliferrio of Fort Worth, Billie Jean Allen of Hurst and Jo Dean Payne of Stone Mountain, Ga.; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
