His parents William and Sarah(Runyon)McCoy left Pike Co Kentucky with their family because of the Hatfield McCoy feud. He married Martha Mahala Koger on Oct 12th 1871 in Harrison Co Mo. His children were Sarah Elizabeth Boothman, Jordon Compton McCoy, John Newton McCoy, and Anna Isabella Rector.
