He was born in Altoona, son of the late Cecil and Elsie (Hale) McKee. He was twice married: first to Grace Houck, who in 1974, preceded him in death; then to Fay M. Stockslager.
Surviving are his wife; five daughters: Linda Joseph, Janet Aurandt, Christine Montgomery, Eugenia Risbon and Deborah Macedonia; three sons: John, James, and Eric; two step daughters; Judy Vaughan and Tina Hoover; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; eight sisters; Bernadine Houck, Alma Loop, Lois Plowman, Helen Settlemyer, Bessie McCoy, Sharon Divens, Beverly Briggs and Carol Igou; and a brother, Richard.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Morrison.
Mr. McKee served in the U.S. Army during WWII, retired as a security guard from Veeder-Root, and was a member of Pleasant Valley Assembly of God.
He enjoyed his computer, his special dog, Maggie, electronics, art and repairing things
Friends received at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, PA, 2-4 and 7-9, Wednesday. Service held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008 with Rev. Henry L Shaffer and the Rev. John Gray. Interment with full military honors at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville, PA.
