Michelle Lee (Hyde) Schulmeister of Waverly, formerly of Sumner and Oelwein, was born on November 16, 1979, to Patrick Hyde and Lorna Wendt at Mercy Hospital in New Hampton, Iowa. Michelle passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Cedar Valley Hospice in Waterloo.
Michelle graduated from Tripoli High School in 1998. She continued her education at NICC in Calmar and became a Registered Nurse in 2005. After graduation, she worked for Covenant Hospital in Waterloo, Hillcrest Home in Sumner, Tripoli Nursing Home and most recently Grandview Nursing Home in Waverly.
She was united in marriage on June 2, 2001, to Bryan Schulmeister at Faith Evangelical Church in Sumner, Iowa.
One son, Shayne Schulmeister was born to this union. Michelle loved spending time with her son, and enjoyed music and sports.
Michelle is survived by her son, Shayne Schulmeister of Waverly, Iowa; parents, Patrick Hyde of Sumner, Iowa and Lorna Wendt of Fredericksburg, Iowa; grandparents, Betty Wendt of New Hampton, Iowa and Frank and Ila Hyde of Waverly, Iowa; and several cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Schulmeister, and maternal grandfather, Lynford Wendt.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Faith Evangelical Church in Sumner, Iowa. Public visitation will be held from 4 PM until 7 PM on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at S.K. Rogers Funeral Home in Sumner, Iowa. S.K. Rogers Funeral Home in Sumner is in charge of the arrangements.
