Buford "Boots" Pettus, 86, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, after an extended illness. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Loretto Memorial Chapel, Loretto, Tenn., with burial in Pettus Cemetery.

Mr. Pettus was a native of Lauderdale County, AL, retired Carpenter, and a member of Greens Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: Wife- Betty Burgess Pettus of Lexington, AL; Daughter- Janice Perry & husband Larry of Nashville, TN; Brother- W.O. Pettus of Lexington, AL; 2 Sisters- Neva Davis & husband Leon of Killen, AL; Betty Landtroop of Saint Joseph, TN; Granddaughter- Rachel Morton & husband Sim of Nashville, TN
