John Christopher Harper 52, born on February 1, 1961, a Milwaukee resident since birth, born to Warren and Shirley Harper, passed away on Thursday January 30, 2014 at 04:30 am. John received his formal education at Benjamin Franklin Elementary, Parkman Junior High School, and Milwaukee Trade and Technology High School. While in secondary school John wrestled, ran track and wrote on the school new newspaper. He later earned an associate of Science degree in Mechanical Design and Drafting from Wisconsin Technical Area College. John enlisted and was sworn into the United States Marine Corps in March 1981 and later married in August 1982. After separating from the Marine Corps John worked doing design work as a contractor for small companies in San Diego, California. He relocated his family back to Milwaukee in August of 1988 and in 1989 was hired and joined General Electric and then General Electric Medical Systems in 1990. John loved his community and mentoring. He served on the North Division High School Advisory Committee and was a volunteer with Marquette's Upward Bound Program. Additionally, he was a member of the Task Force for Education under Milwaukee Inner City Congregation Allied for Hope. John enjoyed bowling and garnered both a 299 and 300 game ring for his championship efforts in the Amateur Bowling Congress. An avid chess player he also loved computers while his entrepreneurial spirit led him to start REPRAH productions a small photography business.

John is survived by his immediate family consisting of his two daughters LaTosha and Brittney Harper, a son Christopher Harper, his mother and father, three brothers, one sister and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
