Christian Neil Staple (affectionately known as Egg) was born in Melrose Park, IL on March 2, 1991 to Cassandra Cobbins and Brian Staple. Christian was the eldest of six siblings.

Christian attended Sipley Elementary School and Jefferson Middle School in Woodridge, IL. He graduated from Downers Grove South High School in 2009 where he was an academic scholar. Christian was involved in sports and played Freshman Football, Jr. and Varsity Volleyball.

Christian continued his education at The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Communications.

After graduation, Christian worked for Graybar Electric in Sales and Marketing. Christian loved Volleyball and decided to pursue his passion as a career and returned to coaching. Christian coached several teams including Performance Volleyball Club, Benet Academy and North Central College where he also received his Sports Leadership Certificate. He became an Assistant Coach for both the men's and women's teams at McKendree University. Christian was honored to become the Head Men's Volleyball Coach at Benedictine University in Lisle in 2021. He was named as NCAA coach of the year in his first season at the helm. Benedictine reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. He also received the AVCA Diversity award. The award recognizes coaches for leadership skills, professional development and promoting inclusiveness within the sport of Volleyball.

Christian was an amazing son, brother, cousin and friend. He loved spending time with his family and friends, traveling, dancing and participating in game nights. Christian had a special love for his volleyball family.

On Thursday, July 7, 2022, God called Christian home to eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie Cobbins, Jr. and Sherry Cobbins, Roscoe Bolden and Lillian Bolden, his sister Brittani Spight-Staple.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Mother Cassandra Cobbins, Father Brian Staple (Michele) Sisters; lmani Woolfolk, Briana Staple-Mason (Shawn), Taianna Staple, Brothers; Brian Staple, Dee Joyner, nephew Cameron Anthony Mason. A host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
