Attala County lost another old and respected citizen in the death of Mr. Fred Sultan, 81, whose death occured at his home near Sallis on Jan. 13th, following a stroke of paralysis.
Mr. Sultan was born in Attala County Nov. 1, 1855, and spent his entire life here. He was a prominent farmer and lived an extremely useful life. For several; years he represented Beat 4 on the Board of Supervisors and made a splendid official.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Mullen Sultan; four sons, Howard and Brantley Sultan, of Sallis; F. M. Sultan, of Columbus, Ind., and Joe Sultan, of Monroe, La.
