Stella Irene Bartlett, 89, widow of Everett W. Bartlett Sr., a long-time resident of North Pownal, died Wednesday, March 28, at the Vermont Veterans Home, Bennington, following a long illness.
Born in Adams, Mass., on April 12, 1900, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (DeMaris) LaFrance. She received her education in the Adams and Williamstown, Mass., schools. She married Mr. Bartlett on Sept. 18, 1920. He died on July 20, 1970. Mrs. Bartlett was employed for many years at the Pownal Tannery until the time of her retirement.
Survivors include two daughters, two sons, two sisters, 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Gerow, who died in 1978; a sister and brother, Dorothy Bass who died in 1957 and Raymond LaFrance who died in 1986.
