Mrs. Alice T. Greenwell, age 68 years, died at the Cambridge-Maryland Hospital last night at 9:30 o'clock. She had been ill since August, and a patient at the hospital for the last 12 weeks. She had been seriously ill for a week.
Mrs. Greenwell was the daughter of the late Arthur G. and Nancy Amanda Thomas Moore, of East New Market. For the past 10 years she had been making her home with her sister, Mrs. Nettie Sherman, 303 Academy Street, this city.
She was a lady of the highest type of Christian character and was staunch member of Zion Methodist Church and the Philathea Class of that church. She was regular in her attendance at all of the services until failing health forced her to remain at home.
She was thoughtful and considerate of everyone, and was ever ready and willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed her assistance.
Mrs. Greenwell enjoyed a host of friends in Cambridge and the County, who will be grieved to learn of her passing.
She is survived by one son, Mr. Norman Greenwell, of Baltimore, three sisters, Mrs. Ada Moore, of Cambridge, R.F.D.,; Mrs. Nettie Sherman, of Cambridge, and Mrs. Robert Wheatley, of Cambridge, R.F.D. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Funeral services from the home of her sister, Mrs. Nettie Sherman, 303 Academy Street, Tuesday afternoon at 2 P.M., with the Rev. Dayton E. McClain and Rev. Theodore Fischer officiating. Interment in the Cambridge Cemetery.
Alice was twin sister to Agga (Agnes).
