Dorothy K. (Ammon) Lowry, 93, formerly of Rehoboth Beach, DE, died May 2, 2009 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Born in Reading September 15, 1915, she was the daughter of Flora Ammon. Dorothy was the widow of Gentry Lowry, Sr., who died July 1981.

Dorothy was a Reading High School graduate. She was employed as a knitting machinist by Textile Knitting Mills.

She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Reading.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Gentry Lowry, Jr. and his companion, Paula Reppert, Wyomissing, with whom she resided for the past three months.

She is also survived by two grandaughters; Kristin Perhonitch, wife of Edward Perhonitch, Schuylkill County; and Shannon Sowal, wife of Brian Sowal, New Jersey; and four great granddaughters; Adyson Perhonitch, Jadyn Perhonitch, Madelline Sowal, and Olivia Sowal.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading, is in charge of the arrangements.
