William Whittick 51 a miller born Penna, appears on the 1850 census, East Windsor, Mercer County, NJ with wife Elizabeth 30 born Penna, and their children Charles 9, Mary 6, William H 4 and John R 2, all born NJ.

(if 51 is correct, would make birth year about 1799, however cemetery inscription reading indicated age 62 and 1/2.)


Their family resides very near Jacob Whittick 38 a hatter born Penna., living in Public House of Alfred and Elizabeth Perrine family with several other boarders of different occupations.

Jacob was alone since his wife Cornelia died in 1848. They and children are buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

It is thought Jacob is brother to William Whittick.

Gravesite Details

Cemetery records show his wife Elizabeth purchased this lot.
An inventory of cemetery many years ago was able to read the inscription on William's gravestone which may no longer be legible, however is in same lot with his son Charles.
