Larry joined the Theatre of Western Springs in its 41st season and was first cast as Dr. John Buchanan, Jr. in the Feb. 1970 production of "Summer and Smoke."

The following are excerpts from the In Memoriam tribute on page one of the program for "The Fireman's Flame", which opened on May 30, 1985.

TWS Active Larry Giesler died on May 19, 1985, following a lengthy illness. He had been an Active Member of this theatre for sixteen years and his guidance as a Stage Manager, Director, or Committee Chairman influenced the lives of all who knew him. He was active in all areas of the Theatre and his presence will be missed.

Audiences will remember his performances in "Halfway Up the Tree" (1971), "Everything in the Garden" (1971), "Cactus Flower" (1972), "Family Portrait" (1972), "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" (1974), "State of the Union" (1974), "Spoon River Anthology" (1976), "Richard II" (1977), "That Championship Season" (1979), "The Runner Stumbles" (1980), "Inherit the Wind" (1980), "Lu Ann Hampton Laverty Oberlander" (1983), and "Under Milk Wood" (1984).

Larry had been a member of the Director's Workshop since 1972 and he was the Guest Director for the Forum production of "Rattle of a Simple Man", in October of 1982. A member of the Board of Governors of TWS between 1973 and 1976, and Chairman of the Board during the 1975-76 season, Larry will be remembered for his many contributions to the Theatre and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Daina and several children from a previous marriage.
