BORN GER, a son of Mathias Law--Mary Metzger; he migrated to America in 1834 with his prnts. The following stories were in the Lorain County History

JACOB LAW: was 10 years old when he came to America, so had attended school for some 4 years in his native land; after he arrived in Lorain Cnty he had the benefit of such English education as the then primative school afforded. His early youth was passed in hard work on his father's farm & when he was 16 yrs old he worked on the canal at Coshocton OH, all his earnings being given to his father. He also labored on other canals. After his marriage his father gave him 30 acres of land in Grafton Township, where he resided up to 1893 - in which year he came to his present farm in the same township. After a time he owned 468 acres, but having given much of it to his children now has 215.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church in which he has held office some years. He and his esteemed wife are highly repected in the community in which they live and he is recognized as a leader among the sturdy and prosperous yeomen of Lorain county.
