Steven Vaughn Wagner, 74, of Riverside, CA, took his last breath on September 26, 2022 after battling pancreatic cancer. His loving wife, Pamela, and son Gabriel were by his side as he peacefully passed away at home.

Steve was born September 18, 1948 in Altadena, Calif. to Ray and Grace Wagner. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by his sisters, Diana and Linda, as well as his sister-in-law, Cindy and brother-in law Robert. He also leaves behind his nieces, Jennifer and Heather, and nephews Sean and Jackson.

Playing baseball was one of Steve's passions. As a child, he played Little League Baseball, which also led to his playing in high school and junior college. From there, he was drafted into the Montreal Expos Organization, in which he played for several years. After that, he earned a Master's Degree in counseling from CSUSB, and worked with troubled youth for a year. Steve spent the next 20 plus years of his professional career mostly with the construction company D.R. Horton and became a General

Superintendent. He also received the President's Award from the company.

Even as a young child, Steve loved racing pigeons. Once retired, he built a large pigeon loft, and bred and raised racing pigeons. His bird was the award-winning racing bird in a 500 mile race against 1,000 birds.

Steve loved to fish, especially in Loreto and Baja, Mexico. This led to his inventing a fishing handle device and he received 5 patents for the designs in both the U.S. and Mexico.

Steve will be interred at Olivewood Cemetery on December 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in Riverside, CA.
