Robert "Bobby" John Grandetty

Robert "Bobby" John Grandetty, born December 27, 1960, died September 25, 2023. Bobby was born and raised in Homestead, Pennsylvania, but called West Homestead home. Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert and Betty (Sandor) Grandetty and sister, JoAnn Schirm. Bobby leaves behind his sisters, Meg (Bryan) Ensinger, Laura (Stan) Soble, Lisa (Leo) Gardina, and was a favorite uncle to Kate Ensinger and Cam Gardina. Bobby served 25 years as a Pennsylvania State Constable. He also was an esteemed life member, serving as an EMT and Firefighter for over 40 years with Munhall Volunteer Fire Company #1. He was one of the "Munhall Six" who was involved in the tragic firetruck accident that occurred on August 5, 1995. Bobby lived a life of service to his family and community. His smile and laughter lit up a room. He enjoyed talking and being with his friends and neighbors, walking his route in his neighborhood and tending his garden.
Friends and family will be received Friday, September 29, from 2-4 PM & 6-9 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall 15120, ((412)261-6394), where a firefighter service will be held at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day, Saturday, September 30 at 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Maximilian Kolbe Church Worship Site. Interment is to follow at St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. Bobby will be greatly missed by his family, neighbors and many, many great friends.
