Loretta (Lorry) Buchanan, 86, of Nanticoke was welcomed into open arms of the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, passing away peacefully in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Nanticoke on Dec. 2, 1926, was the daughter of the late Frank and Lottie Robaczewski Peranski and was a member of St. Faustina Parish, Nanticoke. She was the widow of Albert Buchanan, who passed away in 1988.
Loretta had been employed for many years by Leslie Fay, Wilkes-Barre. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a daughter, Barbara Buchanan Gorski; son-in-law, Benedict Gorski; and infant daughter, Marie.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Daniels and her husband, Robert, Nanticoke; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces.
Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for a Memorial Mass that will be held in St. Faustina Parish Church, secondary site, at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be at a later date.
