John Adolphus Pulley was born April 2, 1868 in St. Joseph, MO and passed away at seven o'clock Saturday morning, February 10 ath the home of his son, Delmar Pulley, three miles northwest of Buffalo where he had made his home for the past ten years.
He was married to Sarah Emma Higgins and to this union was born 11 children, three having preceded him in death.
Survivors are his eight children: Myrtle Jennings, Reno, Nev.; Ona Mae Engelbert, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Charley, Afton, Okla.; Lloyd and Bert, Kansas City; John of Lebanon; Ina Ballard, Eldridge; and Delmar of Buffalo; also one sister Mary M. Botts, Joplin; 15 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and has lived a faithful Christian life ever since.
His wife preceded him in death November 29, 1929.
Mr. Pulley had been in poor health for the past three years. All was done that loving hands and hearts could do but to no avail and he slipped quietly away to rest. He was at the time of his death 82 years, ten months and eight days of age.
While conscious to the last he never complained and his thoughts were always of others. His life has been a shining example which should be an inspiration to all.

Fair spirit, rest thee now,
Even while with ours thy footsteps trod,
His seal was on your brow.
Lone are the paths and sad and bows
Whence thy dear smile us gone.
But oh! a brighter home than ours
In Heaven is now thine own.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Don Brown Monday, February 12, 1951 at 2 p.m. at Plad Union Church. Interment followed in Plad Cemetery under direction of Montgomery-Vaughn Funeral Home.
