A native of Rutherford County he was born on November 21, 1936 a son of the late William Hicks Millwood and Frances Olivine Crotts Millwood; a former employee of Reeves Brothers Grace Plant and retired from Stonecutter Corporation in Spindale, and a member of Piney Knob Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Michael Millwood in 2007. Survivors include his wife, Louise Hardin Millwood of the home, a son, Danny Keith Millwood and his wife Kathy of Forest City, two sisters, Virginia Munn of Granite Falls, SC , Leona Owens of Charlotte, four grandchildren, Daniel Shane Millwood of Forest City, Joshua Michael Millwood and his wife Ashley of Casar, Jessica Michelle Millwood of Wilmington, and Heather Millwood Lovelace and her husband Casey of Rutherfordton, one great grandson, Austin Michael Millwood, a daughter in law, Diane Yelton Millwood of Forest City, mother in law, Ina Arrowood Hardin of Shingle Hollow and a number of nieces and nephews including Clinton Gene Millwood, Judy Millwood Odell and Steve William Millwood which he helped raise. He also had three special honorary grandchildren, Jamie, Joey, and Jon Clayton.
