Mrs. M.M. LaCroy died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.W. Ficken, May 4. She was born at Fayetteville, Arkansas, November 12, 1884. In early childhood she moved to Missouri, and later in company with her family joined an emigrant train coming west, over the old Oregon Trail, arriving at what is now known as Highland, Oregon, in October, 1867.
She is survied by six children: Mrs. D.A. Miller, McMinnville; Mrs. E. W. Fickin and J.E. LaCroy; Viola; Mrs. L.J. Belcher, Mossy Rock, Wash., and Mrs. Charles Landers of Clackamas. There are 24 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. M.L. Ringo of Estacada, and one brother, John Mayfield of Yakima, Wash. her husband, two sons and on daughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 1 P.M. in the Viola church, Rev. S.B. Moffett, Baptist minister of Oregon City, officiating and interment was made on the Redland Cemetery, under the direction of L.A. Chapman of Estacada.
