Barbara Jean Siemens, 85, of Yuba City, CA, passed away May 23, 2023, surrounded by her family in Live Oak, CA. Barbara was born August 8, 1937, in Childress, TX, to Willie and Vetress Veale. She met and married Donald Gene Siemens in 1953. They were married for 63 years until Donald's passing in 2017. She was a resident of Yuba City for 50 years. While raising her sons, Barbara was involved in PTA, local and national political campaigns, and caring for people in and outside the family. After becoming a nurse in 1981, she worked for 16 years at Fremont Hospital and Dr. Warren Campbell's office. Barbara and her family became members of Gray Avenue Church in 1973. She was a devoted member to her church communities in the Yuba-Sutter region and most recently attended Hope Point. She will be remembered as a close friend for 50 years to some and a helping hand in a crisis for others. She had an open door and well-timed smile. Barbara is survived by her sons, Michael Siemens and wife Marie, Mark Siemens and wife Jodie, and Matthew Siemens and wife Leah; eight grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald; her parents; sister, Dorothy Palmer; and brother, Elmer Veale. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am, Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City.
