Agency Man's Rites Are Today Joseph E. Keeler, 68, Was Postmaster Crow Agency, July 16. (Special) Funeral services for Joseph E. Keeler, 68, postmaster and general merchant at Crow Agency for the last 30 years, who died of a heart aliment Sunday at the Crow Agency hospital following an illness of seven weeks, will be held at 2 p. m Wednesday at the Crow Agency Baptist church. The Rev. C. A. Bentley, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Hardin cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Henry Small, Dick Watts, Clarence Munn, Clarence Hitchcock of Crow Agency and W. E. Williamson of Hysham. Mr. Keeler was born at Meno- menee Falls, Wis., Feb. 5, 1872. He removed with his parents to Wauwatosa, Wis., where he attended high school. Later he was employed for several years at the Glmble department store In Milwaukee, Wis. He married Miss Augusta Bucholz, Jan. 30, 1895. The couple came to Montana in 1906 and settled at Forsyth. In 1908 they moved to Sanders, where Mr. Keeler was postmaster and manager of a general store. They had resided at Crow Agency since 1910. At Crow Agency Mr. Keeler was postmaster and operated a general mercantile business.
Mr. Keeler is survived by his widow, a son, Everett P. Keeler of Lewlstown; a daughter, Mrs. James D.Garrett of Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother, Jerry Keeler of Milwaukee; a niece, Mrs. Paul Meade of Hysham; a nephew, I. C. Bud Keeler of Caucuta, Columbia, South America, and two grandchildren..
