Robert "Bob" Jack Strickland, 79, of Hugo, OK went to his forever home surrounded by his loving family on August 21, 2021, after a lengthy and hard-fought battle with complications of heart disease.

He was born April 23, 1942 in Winslow, AZ son of Josie (Whitley) Strickland and Troy Strickland. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leighton and Calvin Strickland, and beloved son Robert Edward.

Bob spent his early adult years in multiple law enforcement agencies in Arizona. In 1969 he married Judy Kay Stell in Winslow. A year later they returned to Judy's hometown of Hugo, OK where Bob became store manager for multiple family businesses owned by Romie Stell, his father-in-law. He was a jack of all trades and would later become owner and operator of B&J Construction, a self-employed truck driver and heavy equipment operator. Bob loved his work and was able to enjoy it until just several months ago.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory his wife Judy of Hugo, OK; sons Brent (Christy) Strickland of West Palm Beach, FL, Trey Strickland of Hugo, OK and Steve Letcher of Mesa, AZ; daughters Lisa Pettyjohn of Chandler, AZ and Shawnie Chalmers of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren Ashlyn Colley, Katelyn Strickland, Kody James, Brock Pettyjohn, Chase Pettyjohn, Jordan Chalmers, Cater Chalmers, and Brett Letcher; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Jean Strickland (John) Johnson of Payson, AZ and Kathy White of Holbrook, AZ along with many more family, friends and loved ones.

There is so much to say about Bob and the way he lived his life. He loved with all his heart, always said what was on his mind, had something sarcastic and funny always on the tip of his tongue, and could tell a story like no other. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, cooking, camping, all types of sports especially football, visiting antique car shows and anything that involved spending time with family, friends, and his beloved pups. His presence to those who love him was bigger than life which is why saying goodbye is so difficult.
