MRS. JESSE HUNT
After a long and painful illness the life of Mrs. Jesse Hunt came to a close and her sufferings ended Wednesday evening, December 21st, 1910 at 7:40 o'clock.
For several months she had been afflicted with a complication of troubles and death was relief from intense pain.
The deceased was married to James G. Rester in 1870 and resided near Franklinton, La., during his life time; was married the second time to Jesse Hunt in 1899 and recently moved to Bogalusa, La., where she resided when she reached the termination of life, which was death. And the immortal and immaterial was separated from the material and mortal, and the body was turned over to the undertaker and was conveyed to the Adams Cemetery where the Rev. Mr. Alford officiated in the funeral exercises after which the body was interred.
The deceased has been a member of the Baptist Church for more than forty years, as a mem- she was loyal, ever cherishing the true principals of Baptist doctrin and trying to carry them into execution in her own life. As a wife she was effectionate and true, as a Mother loving and kind and stated to the author of this sketch that she had trusted in the merits of Christ's blood for life and salvation and notwithstanding she was passing through the valley of the shadow of Death she did not fear any evil, for God's word supported her and furnished great comfort and no doubt while has been returned to its mother earth her spirit was accompanied by a convoy of angels to its Eternal Home and heard that welcome applaud "Well done thou good and faithful servant, thou has been faithful over a few things enter now into the Joys of thy Lord."
She is survived by two brothers _______________ five children and ___ grand-children. (ink smudged)
