Norwich - Albert J. Cote passed away at his home Dec. 11, 2023. He was born in Sprague, Aug. 22, 1936, the son of Alfred and Marie Rose (Daigneault) Cote.

Mr. Cote was a U.S. Army veteran serving 1956-1958 and was honorably discharged. He had been employed as a painter at Electric Boat in Groton for 33 years until his retirement.

On Sept. 5, 1959, in Sacred Heart Church Norwichtown, Albert was united in marriage to the former Barbara Ploszaj. She passed away Jan. 28, 2021. In 1983, he was ordained a Deacon for the Diocese of Norwich by Bishop Daniel P. Reilly. Albert was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church Norwichtown.

He is survived by three sons, three sisters, three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Albert was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Donald and Norman Cote.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Sacred Heart Church Norwichtown. Burial is in St. Joseph Cemetery, Norwich with military honors.
