John Robinson, 91, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in Canadian, Texas surrounded by his loving family.


A Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rich Jones officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford.


A visitation will be held prior to service on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. 


John was born on December 31, 1932, in Crockett, Texas to Roy and Norma Mae (Hiser) Robinson.


He served in the United States Army, Korean War Era as a Corporal, from March 5, 1953 to February 18, 1955; then continued his services in the US Army Reserves until 1961.


John married the love of his life Rose Marie (Yandell) Robinson on November 20, 1955, they moved to Hereford in 1959. John worked for Whiteface Aviation for 45 years. He helped to build the Frio Baptist Church and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hereford. John was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge; he was the youngest man to hold the Grand Master Position during his time. 


John's life revolved around his wife Rose Marie and his family. He was passionate about golf, sharing that enjoyment with his wife, children, and friends. John was loving, supportive, a friend to all, and truly a good guy. He taught his children to love God, love family, work hard, and to be proud of their country. 


Those left to carry on his legacy are son, Greg Robinson and wife Angela of Lubbock, Texas; daughter Staci Pickens of Miami, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Robinson and wife Lexi of Lubbock, Texas, Riley Robinson of Amarillo, Texas, Hagen Pickens and wife Jaydon of Amarillo, Chelsi Underwood of Miami, Texas, and Paige Townsend and husband Jesse of Ada, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Jase Underwood, Charli Underwood, Layken Pickens, Garret Pickens, Riggs Robinson, Dillon Palmer, Lynlee Townsend and Samuel Townsend.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Norma Mae Robinson, wife Rose Marie Robinson, grandson Garrett Pickens, and a sister Hazel.
