Marysville Daily Herald, Volume I, Number 99, 31 May 1851, Page 3: DIED. At Quinty Rancho, near Marysville, May 28th, deeply lamented by all who knew him, ALEXR. ABERCROMBIE, of Beneath, Stirlingshire, Scotland, aged 24 years. The deceased's death was occasioned by an accidental gun shot wound received through his hand and wrist about a fortnight since. Medical aid was promptly obtained and the wounds progressed most favorably until three days before he died, when symptoms of tetanus and lock jaw set in; the convulsive spasms came on very suddenly and frequently, and were attended with great agony. The deceased however bore them with great courage and resignation until death relieved him of his suffering.
