James William Bible, 74, died at Neblett Hospital and Clinic in Canyon Saturday night.[23 Apr 1966]

A retired farmer and dairyman, Bible had lived in Randall County since 1933.

Born November 6, 1891 at Hillsboro, he was a member of the Canyon Church of Christ, the Masonic Lodge. No. 730, and a veteran of World War I.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Central Church of Christ in Canyon with Herman ALexander, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Assisting with the services was Rev. Strauss Atkinson, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Canyon.

Burial was at Dreamland Cemetery under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Home. Masonic rites from Lodge No. 730 were conducted at the graveside.

Pallbearers were Ray Bible, Dale Bible, Horace Bible, Clovis Bible, Walter Bible, Raymond Bible, and nephews were honorary pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie of Canyon; two sons, Billy of Canyon and James of Wayside; four stepchildren, Henry Webb of Amarillo, Bill Webb of San Juan Capistrano, California, Mrs. Cleo Call of Kirkland and Mrs. Marie Griffith of Amarillo; a brother, Paul Bible of Hollis, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
