John D. Bradman, 78, of Grindstone, died in Brownsville General Hospital at 9:05 p.m. Friday. He was a former resident of Colonial No. 3, but had made his home for the last year with a son, Kenneth, in Grindstone. He was born in Franklin Township April 9, 1879 a son of the late George and Katherine Arison Bradman. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the UMWA, and attended Fairview Methodist Church. Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Georgia Hickman and Mrs. Catherine Nicol of Columbus, Ohio, Howard Bradman of Carmichael, Mrs. Clara Stringer of Brownsville, Kenneth Bradman of Grindstone; Mrs. Ruth Gribble of Hiller and John D. Bradman Jr. of Connellsville; a sister, Mrs. Daisy Phillis of Dravosburg; 26 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife on July 23, 1956. The body will be at the Greenleaf funeral home at Beallsville after 3 p.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held there at 2 p.m. Monday with interment in Beallsville Cemetery.
