Clara Mae West, 98, of Amarillo died Friday, May 16, 2008.

Graveside services will be at noon today in Memorial Park Cemetery with Alan Williamson officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. West was born Sept. 25, 1909, in Plemons to Hardy W. and Lillie Leah Pitts. She had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1935 and taught the 4-year-olds Sunday school class for 30 years. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, V.B. West.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Miller and husband Joe of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Lynne Burns and husband Mike and Christy Jenness, all of Dallas, and Beth Smith and husband David of Amarillo; three great-grandchildren, Amy and West Jenness and Emma Smith; a brother, Dr. Robert Pitts and wife Martha of Amarillo; and many nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to Faith City Ministries, 401 S.E. Second Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101; or Campus Crusade for Christ International, 100 Lake Hart Drive, Orlando, FL 32832.
