Bennie Fern Hooker, age 81, passed away on Monday August 7, 2023, with his wife by his side. Bennie was born on April 19, 1942, in Arlington, Texas to the late Lambert and Lillie (Leach) Hooker. On November 21, 1975, he was united in marriage to Donna Bedford in Fort Worth, Texas. The couple were inseparable for 47 years. They enjoyed traveling together and traveled throughout the United States and even to Italy. Bennie loved animals of all kinds and faithfully fed the wildlife in his yard. In his free time, he enjoyed gambling at the casinos. Bennie was a great husband, a wonderful father, and a loving grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed by the family he leaves behind.


Bennie is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Sherrie (Tom Thivierge) Wright, Kimberly (Marvin) Ninham, Melissa Thomas, and Bennie J. Hooker; eight grandchildren, Kimberlyn, Tarah (Tyler), Alexandria, James (Jessica), Tyler (Adriana), Lauren, Randy, and Kaleigh; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous grand pups. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Bennie is preceded in death by his parents, Lambert and Lillie; his in-laws; three sisters; and one brother.


In accordance with Bennie's wishes no public services will be held.
